Slava who is able to read Japanese (sigh with envy) has sent this very snake-like character which says "snake" in an archaic Chinese style (Tenso), "ah so" he knows Chinese too! I am a bit puzzled as to which way is "up" but will go with the English greeting. Thanks Slava.
Nice. It hardly matters, but the three stamps are all meant to be viewed as they would be if the card were vertical (with the two larger stamps on the right side of the card, and Slava's signature stamp at the bottom left). The English words are the odd exception rather than the guide.
